A Terrible Gas Leak And Very High Bills.

While cutting grass around our house trailer I thought I noticed the odor of natural gas. They put some kind of scent in the stuff so that you can smell something if it is leaking.
I noticed our natural gas bill stayed very high. I suspected we had a leak, but it was cold, and we needed our gas heater. Bad idea that was. Anyway you could not smell the stuff in the house. You had to be outside working by the trailer to since something was not right.
$ 200 a month was lost because of the leaking gas. Joann called the gas people so a man came out to check to see if we had a leak.
He said, " Folks you got a leak alright, and a bad one. I have cut your gas off like you wanted me too. Just let us know when you want it back on. "
He was nice. He left a place open on the line just in case a plumber has to check for leaks and make repairs.
I probably lost a fortune in money, not to mention we could have been blasted to jupiter had the gas been ignited. Thank God we did not get blown to Kingdom come.
Now we will save some money. It was cold this morning, and I am cold now. The bathroom was cold. I unraveled the long cord to our electric heater, but before winter comes again I will have to get the gas lines checked and repaired, or figure out and alternative heat method.
By the time winter gets here we should have plenty enough money to pay a plumber to make repairs. There are always things that need repaired.
Yesterday I did some grass pulling, and cutting from around the trailer. I want it to be easy, and nice for a repairman to be able to crawl under our trailer to get work done. There must not be any grass, or any mess where the folks would have difficulty in doing their work.
Today if I can I plan to get more outside work done. I try to get something done every day.
God Bless Everyone.

Sorry to hear of your recent dilemma, stars439. I've always been afraid of gas. I'm thankful we just have electricity to deal with. Even when it has been known to go off at times. Thanks for sharing your story. Hope things get straightened out soon, for your safety. : )

I am scared of gas. I would never go near it because it can easily blow up.

God certainly was watching over you and your family! One little spark could have done it! We need to have the heater on our front porch checked for a gas leak as well. I can smell gas every time my husband turns it on but he can't. It's nothing to play around with!
