It Is Nice To Have Friends And Fans
July 23, 2010. Soon I will have to go to the hospital lab for a routine blood test. I can not snack on any food after midnight. Being a diabetic I sort of get hungry for a sandwich, but on lab morning I can not take my medicine or eat food before my blood is drawn.
I always put lab off for as long as possible until I have to go. Joann always chews my butt out for it.
Yesterday I went to the store. It was hot outside. Becky wanted instant hot chocolate powder mix in the box. Joann wanted diet root beer. The root beer was on sale. One dollar for a two litre plastic bottle. I bought five.
Naturally I bought ten pound bags of raw chicken. Our cat Gray Fox whines if he can not have his microwaved chicken. I clean the chicken, microwave a batch of it, and Fox and I have a feast. Becky likes it also with barbecue sauce. I never add seasoning to the chicken I microwave.
Cat food cans can be real expensive if you have ten cats. We keep some can cat food, a bag of real good quality dry cat food, and I feed our cats some of what I like to eat. Believe it or not, chicken is and economical kind of food you can feed cats, but make sure you cook it.
I trim the fat off raw chicken, then places raw pieces in a microwaveable large glass flat bowl. I put about five pieces in my bowl by spreading them out. I set my time on fifteen to seventeen minutes. I cook the chicken in the microwave by covering the bowl with a large flat plate. It is so easy. You must try it.
A lot of the natural moisture in the chicken comes out of the chicken during the microwaving process. The food is tender because it is cooked in it's own juices.
When the chicken is cooked it will be hot, and there will be a lot of moisture from the chicken in your bowl. I throw that water away. The chicken will be hot. Be careful when you take it out of the microwave. I like to take the chicken off the bones for Becky and put it in her plate. Joann adds vegetables and other food to her dish. Becky likes to dip her pieces of cooked chicken in barbecue sauce. She usually likes to drink her ice cold coke with her meal.
Gray Fox, my Hub Page star cat, he whines for his chicken. He is a real heart breaker. I will make sure his chicken is cool. He likes it served in a very clean dish always. He will take it out of your hand. The other cats love chicken also. They are smart. They let Fox do all the major meowing, and then they invite themselves to supper.
IT IS NICE TO HAVE FRIENDS AND FANS. I bet you thought I was going to forget to write about friends and fans.
I love friends and I love fans. Comments are very important in my view. I have many dear friends on Hub Pages. When someone comments on whatever I write, I like to do my best to write a comment for my friend or fan.
Everyone likes to have their work read. It is always nice to return a favor if and when you can.
If someone is nice enough to comment on my hub, then I really would like to return the courtesy. I will usually like to read the friend's hub work as well.
I have a lot of very dear friends. I do not write for money. I write for my own since of pleasure and enjoyment and because I guess people are important to me. I have a few issues that are obvious. Sometimes my mind is troubled over certain matters. I just have to talk, and writing helps me to deal with things occasionally.
I draw Social Security Disability. There are rules when you do so. I can write a while until I become tired. I can work around the kitchen a little by washing dishes as long as I am sitting in a chair. I can not stand up for longer than one minute, otherwise pain demands that I sit down. If I sit down I must elevate my legs. Diabetes is nothing to play around with.
Exercise is good. When I am walking with my two walking canes or crutches I can pick up stuff in our yard. The riding lawn mower is convenient. I usually carry along one of my walking canes when I ride on my lawn mower. It makes it easy for me to pick up certain items from the ground by using the curved end of my walking cane to bring the item to me.
I have thought about placing stools or chairs in different locations outside. This would help me to stand up and sit down while I work.
Trimming hedges will work up to a point while sitting down.
I am going to eventually create and outdoor garage sale table and have my chairs and guitars and harmonicas. While I am selling junk I can play my music, and Joann can bring me a tall glass of ice tea once in a while.
Being without energy keeps me from doing a lot of things. Until this hot weather ends, not much will get done.
Now it is time to take my morning medicine. Which means I have to eat something with it. I am not going to any lab work this morning. I will go next week. I might even cancel my Doctor's appointment. I really can not stand hot weather. I hate to leave the house , and the convenience of my room. Kidney Doctor. He is the one I must see. I may change the appointment to a month from now. Joann will definitely chew my butt out. She gives me hell when I cancel appointments. She can spoil a wet dream, my sugar lump, peaches and cream, my ball and chain, my nightmare on Elm Street, my princess bride, my honey bunch, my sugar pie, and my little fat butt. We make a perfect match when we both try to squeeze through the door of the bathroom at the same time.
My doctor told me I should lose some weight. I have lost some. I weigh about 280 pounds. I am about five feet eight inches tall. I have always had a well built muscular body. I use to Indian wrestle other men and beat them all. My forearms are very strong and my chest is still well built. I look O.K. I just have all kinds of health issues. I was good in archery, expert shooter, self trained Marshall arts individual. I studied Karate, and self defense techniques also with soldiers and police related subjects.
I practiced with the Bowie knife, and stilettos. I have a few swords but never bothered to practice with them. One of my best police partners was a third degree black belt instructor and karate champion that was a deep sea diver and wrestled alligators. He was my partner. I had another partner that was a race car expert and sharpshooter.
I was and expert with the 357 magnum revolver. A former Vietnam Veteran firearms instructor wanted me to teach him how to shoot the magnum correctly. I trained him in about ten minutes. All I told him was to squeeze the trigger , and let the revolver freely flick your wrist when you fire it. He did much better and at least became a marksman with it.
I actually like guns with smooth action. One of my favorite hobbies is studying sniper rifles. Snipers , I am fascinated by the best in the world and their kinds of rifles.
The compound bow was nice. I have a long bow, two compound bows, and a re curve bow.
God Bless Everyone.

Leon you are so true about friends and fans - the etiquette of it all - so many don't follow it but it is what it is I guess. I trust lab isn't too difficult today and all my best wishes for the day.
Rejoice in today and praise Him. You remain in my prayers and heart.
Forever His,
They Do have a lot of Bow hunters in Louisiana don't they Lee...as for gun Safty ,it a part of life here on the Bayou;)
Star439, You have had quite a lot adventure in your life! You are such a great storyteller!
Remember to take care and get plenty of rest; I pray that you have encouraging test results! Take time and ENJOY some music!
Thank you as always for sharing, In HIS Love, Peace & Joy to ALL of you!
Thank you for your wonderful hub and point to read your friends and fans hub. I too read and comment everyone of them although it is time consuming but I like mine to be read and commented on so do others, Some poeple don't think so.
Leon well put - when we open our minds and take the time to listen it opens so much more. Many on HubPages think you have to agree - never more evident then on political blogs or hubs. Exactly not - if you don't take the time to understand why people don't agree where will we ever get?
I am glad you opened up about yourself like this. Good to know. You take care of your self. I hate lab work too, but it is necessary I suppose. thanks for sharing these things. God bless you and your loved ones, Charlie
Hello Stars. Hope you are doing well. We hate going to the doctor but we must. Hope you get back to archery or other things you enjoyed telling us about. The hot weather saps the energy out of anybody, so stay cool and God bless.
