It Is So Easy To Get Hurt

It Is Easy To Get Hurt
It happens to me all the time because I am foolish , hard headed, and desire to get things done too fast.
My wife Joann warned me. She said I was tired, and it was time to stop working. However I was hard headed and had to continue screwing around.
Do yourself a favor and do not do stupid things that I do. Be careful when your working on trying to tear down a building. Be careful when your doing yard work.
Earlier today was Friday, March 19, 2010. I have been slowly trying to tear down what is left of and old gift shop. Inside of it there were ceramic molds still remaining. I have been trying to store them, and plan to sell the used molds.
I built the gift shop about thirty years ago for my wife Joann. Joann wanted the business so I built it myself when I was younger. Hurricane Katrina damaged it so I have been tearing down what remains of the building.
Slowly but surely I planned to finish demolishing it, and storing the molds. Today I did some more work using my crow bar as I was pulling off boards of the walls.
When I reached a stage to wear I could pull a few walls down ,and away from the structure, I grabbed my hoe to pull down one wall.
I was kind of rushing the job. It is stupid to try to rush things, or work when your tired. I was very tired, but kept on working.
With my trusty hoe I caught hold of the top of the wall from outside of it and pulled. It came down alright but kind of fast, and I think the wall pushed me down with the hoe.
I fell backwards and landed very hard straight back, flat on my back. I felt a crack inside my back, and also extreme shooting pain. OH LORD CHRIST ! JESUS IN HEAVEN! Darn that really hurt . I figured I was going to be paralyzed or something when I heard and felt the crack so I asked the good Lord to see me threw this bad moment.
Fortunately the ground was very soft from a lot of rain, so my sorry behind did not get murdered after all, but I did get hurt.
Oh boy! This will hurt tonight, tomorrow, and some more days for being a dumb a*s hard headed begonia brain idiot , and continuing to work when I should have stopped.
Work too much when your too tired and that is when accidents happen. Joann warned me.
Lying flat on the ground, the pain in my back stopped. I wondered if I could move. I yelled for Joann to come and help me.
When I was young my sweet wife would come and lie down on me and her sweet breasts would be in my face along with her soft golden brown curly hair. Those sweet days are now long gone. Now she would come to try to pull me up off of the cold earth.
I laid on the ground, with the cool wet earth to my back. The clouds were racing across Heaven as I gazed toward the sky, and easily looking up was so wonderful and enjoyable for a few minutes. What a dear moment to share a bit of Heaven with our Lord God.
I could hear Joann opening the front door of our home. I heard her foot steps on the porch, and the screen door opening. Joann was coming as I relaxed on my back feeling the nice cool wind.
Joann said, " Get up! Try to get up! You can not stay down their all day. Why don't you get up!.
I told Joann to give me her hand to help balance me for a moment. She helped to pull me up to a sitting position. I looked at my muddy dirty hands. My pants and back were dirty. The ground was soft. It was a good thing.
I turned and hoped it would not hurt. The pain was not too bad. I managed to get on my knees as I held Joann's hand, and I stood up. Slowly I walked to our home and sat down at the kitchen table.
Joann fixed me something to eat and to drink as I washed off my dirty hands. After I ate something I took a bath and went back into the kitchen to sit down.
Indeed I knew it would hurt worst later so I took something for muscle and nerve pain. I told Joann I would go to bed, and that is what I did. I took enough drugs to fight the muscle spasms that I began to feel in my back.
After resting a while under some blankets, I took more medicine and decided to get up to write this hub.
I am not feeling any pain at the moment as I type this hub. I guess I will feel some when I go back to bed.
I was fortunate. For a moment I thought I broke my back when I felt something crack. My ribs feel all right.
If I can get threw tonight without much pain, then I guess tomorrow will be better.
God was good to me again. Soon I will go back into the kitchen and back to bed. Joann and Becky are sleeping. Bless their hearts.
God Bless You Too.

I very much enjoyed this Hub, my friend. I was struck by this passage:
"When I was young my sweet wife would come and lie down on me and her sweet breasts would be in my face along with her soft golden brown curly hair. Those sweet days are now long gone."
Oh, the days of milk and honey. Sad to see them go. :(

Hi stars439
I'm sorry to hear you hurt yourself, and I hope your back is better now. I'm no stranger to pain either, and no matter where in our bodies the pain is, it can sometimes be unbearable. I hope you're feeling better. God Bless you and your family and pets.
Dear stars439
Thankyou for saying such lovely things. I always find stroking our pets is therapeutic too. There's so much comfort in them and I'm sure you find that with all your lovely cats.
God Bless you all.
Stars439, You are a true storyteller! One can see you falling and lying in the mud... I am sorry to hear that you hurt yourself! I am so thankful you called on the Lord! That really could have been quite crippling... Therefore I say Praise God! Although in pain you were able to walk> You must listen to Joann next time! Take care of yourself so you can spend many more years enjoying your lovely family... I pray that you are getting better each day!
Thank you for sharing, in His love & Blessings!
interesting and nice hub. voting up!
Wow I know how scary that can be. I climbed on the back of my couch to fix curtains back awhile and had on a long housecoat and as I stepped back I walked inside the hem and it threw me off the back of the couch far out into the floor flat on my back and I just went numb and it knocked the breath out of me too, but after laying there a few minutes I got up and was fine, a real miracle I am sure! Great hub, bless you and family.
stars439,hope you are feeling better and hope you recover soon. Even in pain, you have written a nice hub for us to read, you are a remarkable person for sure! Take care!
