The Saddest Kitten

The sad kitten
Peanut is a great mother cat , but she was wild when we first found her under our house. She was a kitten, hungry, and hard to catch. It took my wife and I a while to get her to come to us. The grass was high so we could barely see Peanut when she ran away from us, and found places to hide under our porch.
When we were finally able to catch her we brought her in our home to feed her and give her water. Quickly she made herself at home and discovered the bedroom where a large bowl of very good quality dry cat food was in a bowl, and as time went on we quickly realized that she preferred the outdoors rather than indoors.
As weeks went by she grew to become a healthy large cat, and Jo Ann named her Peanut, and eventually the cat became pregnant by going outside sometimes and meeting male cats, so we raised her kittens in our home. In fact Peanut gave birth to her kittens in front of my bed under my dresser in a large card box.
Having kittens in our home might seem a bit much, but it was not a bad thing because we could make sure the kittens would grow healthy and safe. Peanut welcomed the attention of having us check on her , and her kittens occasionally.
As time went on the kittens grew larger and Peanut began to wean them, and unfortunately she came in heat again, so my wife and I decided that we would try to keep her in the house so that she would not get pregnant again. Peanut became a real big problem. The situation became much worse when she began destroying curtains, and would do practically anything possible in an attempt to try to escape.
It was difficult to keep Peanut in the house, but we quickly called a veterinarian to have her spayed. An appointment was made so all we had to do was keep it and get Peanut to the office.
The morning that we had to drive Peanut to the veterinarian we had to put her into a cat carrier. When that was done her black and white kitten began sadly crying for us to take her mother out of the carrier. Quickly that morning I called the veterinarian to ask him if we could bring the cat in sooner because caging the mother cat was upsetting her kittens. Understandably the doctor said it was O.K. to bring her in early. Animals have sinces and sensitive emotions like humans. Animals experience happiness, sadness, just like we do. Animals may not be as intelligent as humans, but they understand confinement, and being caged or locked up. The kittens wanted their mother free. As a human I knew the cat carrier was only a solution to safely get their mother to a vetenarian. They have and intellect that suits their nature. Her black and white kitten came to me and cried in a most heart breaking way.
I suppose the point I am trying to make is that animals are very sensitive. I truly believe that cats and dogs are very sensitive. Animals have a lot of complexity in their lives. I am willing to bet that vetenarians, and care takers, and trainers of animals, and keepers of animals probably realize that animals have personalities as well. One of Peanut's kittens, the black and white one we named Blacky, was very sad. He had no measure of time. He did not know his mommy would be confined only a short while, or why. This was why I wanted the vetenarian to take us in earlier, so there would be less trauma to the kitten, or kittens. I think there is a lot of things a lot of humans need to realize about animals. I think science will serve to educate humans more about animals in the future.
There is so much to learn about life, and we have only just begun.
A day later everything began to work out perfect once again in our home. The black and white kitten was happy to be reunited with his mother, and so were Peanut's other three kittens.
As it turned out we decided to keep all four kittens and Peanut, and we now have ten cats, and we love each and every one of them. For us it is a little expensive to feed them all, but they are worth it because the four kittens are sweet, and playful, and are constantly enjoying their lives, and exhibiting very interesting behavior and characteristics.
Now our cats are full grown and their all beautiful. They are a world of fun and mischief, and we love them.
Thank you for reading about our cats, and God Bless You.

Great story stars439.
I think we may have a new cat. I've been feeding a stray black cat for about three weeks now and letting her in on the front enclosed porch when she will agree to come in - it's so bitter cold and we got several inches of snow so she has been stopping by more often. Last night when my husband let the dogs back in after their 3 minutes trip outside, here comes the black cat, walking in with them and she walked around like she owned the place....lol She wanted out with the dogs at 3:30 this morning and then came back tonight and has been here about five hours now. One of our females makes terrible noises at her but neither has tried to fight the other. I am just praying she is fixed because we have all but the two youngest males fixed and it is horribly expensive to have done. Our local shelters are all out of money to help too. I guess we will make room for one more. There is always room in our hearts and we will figure out room in our budget, God willing. I can't let an animal go hungry or be out in the cold.
I just LOVE cats and if you visit my hub, you will see that easily! Skye2day pointed me here and am glad I stopped by. I will certainly explore your hubs very soon! God Bless you and all animal lovers!!!!
Also, thanking you for being a law enforcement officer...I respect all of you very much!!!
